Lotus FTC Robotics Team wins the state Championship
Lotus FTC Robotics team won the state championship on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Regis University. There were about 50 schools competing from all around the state. Congratulations to all students who worked hard tirelessly since the beginning of the year. They worked long hours after school and on weekends. Congratulations to Coach Danisman for his dedication and hard work. We are grateful to our PTO who supported our team financially, and our Board President Mr. Ustemirov who volunteered many hours.

1st Annual Lotus Science Fair
Saturday, January 26, 2013 Lotus School for Excellence hosted our First Annual Science Fair. We had over 50 projects presented from 6 different schools around the Aurora/Denver area including some of our very own students here at Lotus! Students from North Middle School Health Sciences & Technology Campus, The Girls Athletic Leadership School, Aurora Hills Middle School, Silver Hills Middle School, Venture Prep Middle School, AXL Academy, and Highline Academy participated in addition to our own Lotus Students.
The top three awards went to the following students
1st Place Winner : Jeremy Sommer (Highline Academy)
2nd Place Winner : Massiel Moncada, Destiny Rodriguez, Destiny Rodriguez (North Middle School)
3rd Place Winner : Bryce Brackeen, John McGah Jr. (AXL Academy)
We would like to congratulate Mr. Hauser's Guitar Club and Mr. Danisman's Robotics Club for amazing performances! Ms. Karaoglu's Sim City Club shared their award winning project from last year. We look forward to an even bigger event next year! A special shout out goes out to Haley French in 8th grade for placing in the top 10! All other awards went to non-Lotus students from other schools.

Intent to return forms are due on Friday Feb 1st
Greetings Families
Green Intent to Return forms were mailed out about 3 weeks ago. If you haven't already, please fill it out and return it to the school as soon as possible! The deadline to turn this form in is this Friday, February 1. If we do not get this form back from you, we will assume your student does NOT plan to return to Lotus in August 2013 and will be taken off the enrollment list. We will have our lottery for next year on Feb 6th. If we did not receive your intent to return form by Friday, your child's spot will be filled by a new applicant. If you lost the form or did not receive one, please come to the main office and we will happily give you a new one. Please please do not delay this as your child may lose his/her spot at Lotus next year.
